History

Le Village d’Imelghas - Morocco

“We’re the only ones in the big rammed-earth house that Bernard has lent us. We overlook the Imelghas’ village facing the Ayt Imi pass, one of the traditional gateways once taken by caravans to cross the Upper Atlas. (…) When it’s blocked up by snow, modern Morocco is confined over there where the tar road begins, at Ayt Mhamed, after a fifty-kilometer dirt track that can only be followed by mule or on foot.” Extract from Onze lunes au Maroc, text by Karin Huet. Éditions Gallimard 2012.
