Extension until Sunday, January 5
The Maison des Douanes de Saint-Palais-sur-Mer offers the public an exceptional exhibition retracing fifty years of the wandering career of a committed artist on five continents.
It opens with a gouache performed at the age of 11 in 1966 – the year Titouan showed for the first time his desire to become an artist – and ends with a selection of work done to the Marquesas Islands in 2017 & 2018 for his last exhibition at the quai Branly museum.
The exhibition takes us through the first books Titouan, its extracts portraits of the work Women of the World, his artistic testimonies engaged in conflict zones from DR. Congo until his recent work with refugee populations of the Sahara.
These works have been presented wandering here and there including museum of decorative arts at the Louvre (1998) at the Fondation Cartier (2000), the Museum of Man (2007)… and have been the subject of numerous publications Gallimard for over twenty years.
From April 6 to November 3. Maison des Douanes, 46 rue de l’océan in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer.
