« Of all the provinces in Afghanistan, the region of Bamiyan has probably suffered the worst acts of vengeance at the hands of Taliban troops. One winter, when it was occupied by Talibans, Kobra lost her daughter and everything she owned: “For four days and four nights, we fled while bullets fired at us. In order to not be killed, my husband hid in the river. My daughter didn’t survive the river crossing.”
